The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Crump selected Blake Shumaker as Student of the Year. Shumaker, a student in the Industrial Electricity program, was selected by instructors and staff based upon his overall academic performance, positive mindset, and proactive leadership abilities. Tennessee Board of Regents, the governing body of all public colleges and technical schools in Tennessee, will recognize Shumaker at its 2025 SOAR Awards ceremony in Nashville in the Spring.

"Blake is not only a high achieving student, but also a student leader serving as president of our SkillsUSA team. We laud and appreciate his dedication to his own career goals as well as to his fellow students," said TCAT Crump President Stephen Milligan.
