Tennessee College of Applied Technology Crump announces that Jay Burks, Paramedic-CC, NRP, Paramedic I/C has joined the faculty as the new instructor for the Emergency Medical Technology program.

Burks is a licensed Critical Care Paramedic with 17 years of EMS experience, 3 years as a Paramedic, 12 years as a Critical Care Paramedic, and 2 years prior Experience as an EMT-IV. He has served as the Emergency Services Assistant Director and Education Coordinator for Wayne County. He holds current certifications from The National Registry of EMT’S and the International Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatchers. He is also an instructor in BLS, ACLS, PALS and a Tennessee instructor coordinator and an Adjunct instructor with the EMT program at TCAT Hohenwald.

“We are especially proud that Jay has joined our team. He brings a great deal of experience and depth of knowledge in both air and ground emergency care transport to lead and assist students in the EMT Basic program,” commented TCAT Crump President Stephen Milligan.

The EMT program is a 14-week program that teaches the EMT Basic curriculum. The program includes evening classes and 90 hours of ride along time to prepare students for the EMT Basic licensure exam. The next term will begin September 3, 2024.
