TCAT Crump proudly sent two to participate in the SkillsUSA Washington Leadership Training Institute’s conference. Computer Information Technology Instructor Landon Richard and his student Taylor Haubrich were among people from across the country who advocated for the skilled trades while receiving advanced leadership training.
According to TCAT Crump’s President Stephen Milligan, “We were proud to send two great representatives from our college to this important and educational offering. SkillsUSA gives students such a great learning opportunity and then another leadership opportunity to promote skilled trades on the national level.” While in Washington, DC, Richard and Haubrich visited monuments, museums, and landmarks while networking with other SkillsUSA participants.
SkillsUSA represents over 413,000 career and technical education students and teachers. SkillsUSA chapters thrive in middle schools, high schools, and college/postsecondary institutions nationwide. Its mission is accomplished through the SkillsUSA Framework of Personal Skills, Workplace Skills and Technical Skills Grounded in Academics, which is integrated into classroom curriculum. Through the Framework, SkillsUSA students hone their hands-on skills against current industry standards in more than 130 occupational areas, from 3D Animation to Welding and nearly everything in between.
