TCAT Crump welcomes Mira Jackson as the new Health Information Management (HIM) instructor. Jackson is a Healthcare Management Administrator with 20+ years of experience in the healthcare finance industry. She specializes in revenue cycle management, billing and coding, hospital patient access and physician practice management; with a CCS-P certification from AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association).  

Jackson has a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Colorado Technical University. 

“I am looking forward to my current role as an HIM Instructor and, as my background shows, I enjoy challenges,” she commented. Jackson owned and operated her own billing company, worked for the major commercial insurance companies as a Claims Administrator, worked in both physician practices and in hospital settings as well as performed numerous administrative duties involved in healthcare, such as, billing/electronic health record software, pre-certification, referrals/authorizations, provider credentialing, provider enrollment, billing, and practice and access manager. 

In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, singing and going to musical events, especially concerts of her favorite artists. Jackson's favorite quote is by Maya Angelo, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

The Health Information Management program, a 12-month program offered through distance learning, is based on the Henderson and Clifton campuses. TCAT Crump, with campuses in Crump, Parsons, Henderson, and Clifton, is part of the College System of Tennessee and governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents and offers career and technical education programs.
